During a ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the organization's chief, Mohan Bhagwat, highlighted the significance of this milestone. He stated that the essence of the RSS is encapsulated in the concluding line of their daily prayers, 'Victory to Mother India.' He emphasized the need to appreciate the nation and strive to position it as the foremost country globally. Bhagwat remarked that the world has become more interconnected, necessitating a broader perspective on global issues.

Referencing Swami Vivekananda, Bhagwat noted that every nation has a mission to fulfill, and India has its own unique contribution to make. He asserted that for a country to emerge as a leader, it must not act solely for its own benefit but should aim to introduce a necessary new momentum in the global order. He reiterated that the RSS was founded for India's sake, with its mission tied to India's aspiration to become a 'world guru.' The time has come for India to showcase its contributions on the world stage.
Mohan Bhagwat also spoke about a new wave of revolutionaries that emerged, providing examples that continue to inspire today. He mentioned that the purpose of that revolution ended after independence, with figures like Savarkar shining brightly during that era. Although that wave is no longer present and is not needed now, it served as a source of motivation for living and dying for the nation. Following the 1857 uprising, some individuals turned to politics as a means to achieve freedom, leading to the formation of the Indian National Congress, which birthed several political parties that ultimately achieved their goal of independence. He reflected that if that movement had illuminated the path post-independence as it should have, the current scenario would be vastly different.

Bhagwat concluded by stating that while this year marks the centenary celebration, the concept of such an organization had been germinating in Dr. Hedgewar's mind long before 1925. This idea took shape and was officially announced after the Vijayadashami festival in 1925. He emphasized that this organization is meant for the entire Hindu community, asserting that anyone who identifies as a Hindu must also be a responsible citizen of the country. This community has long recognized its identity and responsibilities.
